What to prepare
Replacement procedure
・First, remove the inside unit (insert) from the case.
・Remove the flint spring from the bottom of the unit.
The flint spring is the gold-colored screw on the bottom of the inside unit, which can be removed by turning it counterclockwise.
・When the flint spring is removed, a flint will come out from inside, so please take it out and keep it in a safe place so as not to lose it.
・Remove the bottom felt.
・Remove the inner cotton as well. It is easier to do with tweezers.
・The wick is also pulled out. It can be easily pulled out by pulling with pliers.
Now that everything has been removed, we will install the new ones.
First, we will start with the wick.
You can put it in from either side, but it is easier to put it in from the top. If it does not go in, you can twist the tip.
The longer the length of the wick that sticks out, the bigger the fire will be; the shorter the length, the smaller the fire will be. You can make it as long as you like, but as a rule of thumb, it should be a little lower than this windbreak guard.
Also, if you loosen the tip of the wick with a pen set or the like after inserting the wick, you can light a stable, thick fire.
・Next, insert the cotton.
Make sure to loosen and insert it firmly. Overfilling may cause poor ignition.
The wick will easily absorb oil by doing so as shown in the image below.
・Next, attach the bottom felt.
・Finally, put the flint and flint spring back in. When installing, it is clockwise.
・Replace the inside unit back in place to complete the replacement!
